KELO-TV engineers will shut off our analog broadcasts at 9:30 Friday morning. To help you prepare for the change, we're answering viewer questions about the D-T-V transition.
One viewer says her family has been holding onto coupons for converter boxes and now they have expired. She wants to know if stores will still accept the coupons.
"If you have a converter box coupon but they have expired, retailers will not accept expired coupons. But you can re-apply for a convert box coupon, but you can only re-apply for one coupon. So you can do that, but you have to hurry because you'll only be able to apply until July 31," KELO-TV Director of Marketing & Creative Services Paul Farmer said.
Other viewers wonder if they will need a new antenna to get a digital signal in a TV in campers.
"If you're watching KELOLAND-TV in your camper, not necessarily the antenna will need to be upgraded. But you'll need to make sure you have a converter box with your older analog television. So your antenna may not be the issue but you will need a converter box with an older television. If you have the converter box or a digital television, you might want to try the antenna first to see if you have to upgrade," Farmer said.
