The committee that manages operations of the South Dakota Legislature has decided to put some limits on travel by lawmakers in the next budget year.
The Legislature's Executive Board decided unanimously that no member of the Legislature can go to more than two out-of-state meetings at state expense next year except in extraordinary circumstances, such as when a lawmaker holds a leadership position on a national committee.
Travel also will be restricted for those who won't be returning to the Legislature the following year.
