As part of the Tea Party Express, a group from California sponsored a rally in Rapid City Monday to take the Obama administration to task.

Carrying homemade signs and U.S. flags, people at the rally heard speakers call for political action.  Republican state Rep. Gordon Howie of Rapid City said South Dakotans should stop socialism and take the power back from the government. Howie said the government should not control health care decisions and that people don't want government taxing them out of their homes and property.

Deborah K. Johns of the California group "Our Country Deserves Better" said the rally was held to encourage people to get involved in local politics to make a difference.  The Tea Party Express began October 25 in San Diego and is scheduled to end with a rally in Orlando, Florida, on November 12.
