The strong south winds helped temperatures warm to the 50s and lower 60s today, but we’ll have a quick change in the weather tomorrow with an approaching storm system from the southwest. It will bring thicker clouds and rain to KELOLAND starting tomorrow and lasting through Friday. The thicker clouds will also bring cooler temperatures with snow becoming likely late in the day for western South Dakota. Rain will be heavy at times in central and north central South Dakota with amounts over an inch possible. Central KELOLAND will also see a gradual switch over to snow Wednesday night and last into Thursday. Northeast KELOLAND will see the switch to snow on Thursday afternoon and evening. Southeast KELOLAND will stay out of the snow, but we’ll have plenty of rain starting Wednesday night and lasting through at least Friday morning.
The weekend is looking dry but it will remain cool with highs only in the 30s and 40s.
